bursar’s account: enclosure no. 2 above. The Virginia General Assembly renewed certificate number thirty-two on 31 Dec. 1818 by “An act authorizing the Auditor to renew a lost certificate in favor of the Central College.” The original certificate had been issued in Joseph C. Cabell’s name to Central College proctor Nelson Barksdale ( [1818–19 sess.], 134).
