bursar’s account: enclosure no. 2 above. The Virginia General Assembly renewed certificate number thirty-two on 31 Dec. 1818 by “An act authorizing the Auditor to renew a lost certificate in favor of the Central College.” The original certificate had been issued in Joseph C. Cabell’s name to Central College proctor Nelson Barksdale (Acts of Assembly description begins Acts of the General Assembly of Virginia (cited by session; title varies over time) description ends [1818–19 sess.], 134).
