To George Washington from Henry Knox, 16 March 1789
From Henry Knox
New York 16 March 1789
My dear Sir
The members of the government are the same as when I wrote you last,1 excepting Mr Maddison Mr Page and Mr B. Lee from Virginia2—But it is expected from information received, that a sufficient number of members will be assembled in the course of this week to form a quorum. I am my dear Sir Your respectfully affectionate humble Servant
H. Knox
ALS, DLC:GW.
1. See Knox to GW, 12 Mar. 1789.
2. John Page and Richard Bland Lee were members of the House of Representatives from Virginia. For the failure of both houses to achieve a quorum, see Knox to GW, 5 Mar. 1789, n.1.
