[Officers] Of the Day Tomorrow[:] Colonel Spencer[,] Lieutenant Colonel North[,] Brigade Major 2d Pennsylva. Brigade
Lieutenant Colonel Hay is appointed Member of the General Court Martial whereof Colonel Livingston is President vice Lieutenant Colonel Huntington.1

GW’s warrant book for this date indicates that Maj. Caleb Gibbs received $3,000 “for the use of the Commander in chief” (Revolutionary War Warrant Book 5, 1780–1783, DLC:GW, ser. 5). Gibbs wrote a receipt for that amount on this date and noted that it was “for the use of defraying the expence of His Excellency General Washington’s family” (Revolutionary War Receipt Book, 1776–1780, DLC:GW, ser. 5).

Lt. Col. Samuel Hay replaced Lt. Col. Ebenezer Huntington on a general courtmartial authorized in the general orders for 9 April, with Col. James Livingston as president.
