Adj. Gen. Alexander Scammell’s orderly book entry for this date includes the following additional general orders: “A Corporal and four Men from the first Pennsylvania Brigade are to attend the Forage Master General with as much expedition as possible to Drive Horses to Pennsylvania.

“Clintons and starks Brigades relieve the Main Guard Tomorrow.

“A Fatigue Party of a Serjeant, Corporal & twelve Privates to be sent by Clintons Brigade tomorrow morning with spades and Shovels to Mr Dunums the Deputy Commissary in Morris Town.

“The first Maryland Brigade will send a Fatigue Party of a Corporal and Six Men to the Adjt General’s Office tomorrow morning.

“The Pay Rolls and Abstracts for January and Feby are to be brought in to the Deputy Pay master General for Examination as fast as they are compleated.

“A Trusty Serjeant Corporal and Twelve men from the first Pennsylvania Brigade to be sent to the Adjutant Generals Office early Tomorrow Morning to Convoy some Prisoners to Philadelphia” (orderly book, 17 Oct. 1779–22 March 1780, DNA: RG 93, Orderly Books, 1775–1783, vol. 33).
