AD, Ledger A description begins Manuscript Ledger Book 1, 1750-72, in George Washington Papers, Library of Congress. description ends , 291.

GW means a suit against William Skilling (see entry directly above and Ledger A description begins Manuscript Ledger Book 1, 1750-72, in George Washington Papers, Library of Congress. description ends , 251). The Fairfax County Order Books contain an entry dated 21 June 1769 for a suit brought by Warren Dent (d. 1794) of Charles County, Md., against “William Shilling” for trespass. The suit was “agreed” (p. 163, ViFfCh). Mr. Harrison is Robert Hanson Harrison, one of the lawyers who did legal work for GW.

GW settled the charges for parish and county levies in 1769 with 3,903 pounds of tobacco and £3.12 in cash. See Ledger A description begins Manuscript Ledger Book 1, 1750-72, in George Washington Papers, Library of Congress. description ends , 293.

This is probably John Muschett of Charles County, Md.

GW may be referring to the mercantile firm in Alexandria, McCrea & Mease.

This was in payment of the quitrents due on Michaelmas 1767. See List of Quitrents, 1768.
