Wood was not granted the land until 19 June 1766, and £2.3 Virginia currency was GW’s usual fee for a survey of under 1,000 acres (Papers, Colonial Series description begins W. W. Abbot et al., eds. The Papers of George Washington, Colonial Series. 10 vols. Charlottesville, Va., 1983–95. description ends , 1:14, 16, 26). Thomas Bryan Martin was Lord Fairfax’s land agent.
