1. The duty on a hogshead of tobacco was five shillings. The total recorded here was for five hogsheads shipped in the Charming Polly, eight in the Industry, and twenty in the William and Mary (, folio 121).
2. GW had acquired from James Wren (died c.1815) in 1765 “2 Linnen Wheels,” “1 Woolen” wheel, “1 Check-Reel,” and “1 Sett of Hemp-Heckles,” for a total cost of £4.14.6. Later, probably November 1765, he got another linen wheel, for sixteen shillings (, folio 73). Wren drew the plans for Pohick and Falls churches in Fairfax County and for Christ Church in Alexandria.
