George Mercer to Andrew Lewis
[Winchester, 18 October 1755]
To Major Andrew Lewis.
It is Colonel Washingtons Orders that you send a Subaltern and Twenty men with Commissary Jones, to bring in the Waggons which he shall shew them.
If the owners should presume to resist, or refuse letting them come, it is his express orders that the Officer bring them in Prisoners.
