Jacky Custis was returning from Jonathan Boucher’s new home, Mount Lubentia, in Prince George’s County, Md. Boucher had moved there from Annapolis the previous December to become rector of Queen Anne Parish, taking three of his students with him: Jacky, Overton Carr of Louisa County, Va., and Charles Calvert (1756–1777), son of Benedict Calvert of Mount Airy.
