9. Went from Colo. Cresaps to Rumney where in the afternoon the Doctr. & my Servant & Baggage arrivd.

The town of Romney on the South Branch of the Potomac River was established in 1762 (hening description begins William Waller Hening, ed. Here GW apparently met John Savage again, for he today recorded receiving £6 from Savage as part of his share of the surveying costs for the Virginia Regiment’s land (General Ledger A description begins General Ledger A, 1750–1772.
