J. Madison presents his respectful compliments to Governor Giles, with thanks for the publication politely enclosed to him;1 and which can not fail to be interesting from the subjects & sources of the discussions composing the work.

Draft and FC (DLC). Draft unaddressed; FC in Dolley Madison’s hand reads: “J Madison with his respectful compliments to Governor Giles, returns his thanks for the Pamphlet politely sent him and just received.” Draft and FC docketed by JM.
