§ From Benjamin Forsyth

24 October 1812, “Ogdensburg River St. Lawrence.” Informs JM that he has served as a captain in a rifle regiment for four years without promotion and made every effort to keep his regiment full with five-year enlistments. Desires a brevet appointment for long and meritorious service.1
