1. Roger Griswold (1762–1812) of Lyme, Connecticut, graduated from Yale College in 1780, studied law, and was admitted to the bar in 1783. He represented Connecticut in the House of Representatives as a Federalist between 1795 and 1805. In 1807 Griswold served as a justice on the supreme court of Connecticut, and in 1811 and 1812 he was elected the state’s governor.
