§ From Henry Hill Jr. 13 January 1807. “Trade of Vera Cruz in the years 1802. 1803. & 1804.1
“Accompanied with an official account of the coinage in the Mint of Mexico since the year 1733.”2
Adds in a postscript: “Note. VeraCruz is the only port of Entry in New Spain on the Atlantic, and Acapulco and St. Blas the only ports of entry on the pacific ocean.”

1. Hill enclosed the following “Statements shewing the trade of VeraCruz in the years 1802, 1803. & 1804, translated by Henry Hill Junior, from the original returns made by the Consulado of that place to the Consulado at Havana” (23 pp.), docketed by Brent: 1) “Imports from Spain of National produce & manufactures”; 2) “Imports from Spain of foreign produce & manufactures”; 3) “Imports from America of Colonial produce & Manufactures”; 4) “Exports to Spain produce of New Spain”; 5) “Exports to the Colonies produce of New Spain”; 6) “Summary of the trade of VeraCruz in the years 1802, 1803, & 1804”; 7) “Translation of Remarks made by the consulado of VeraCruz on the trade of 1802”; 8) “Remarks by the Consulado on the trade of 1803”; and 9) “Remarks by the consulado on the trade of 1804.”
2. Hill also enclosed a “Noticia de lo Acuñado en la Real Casa de Moneda de Mexico desde el año de 1733. hasta el de 1793 [Notice of the Minted Coins in the Royal Mint of Mexico from the year 1733. to 1793],” n.d. (3 pp.), docketed in an unidentified hand, with the last page reporting a total figure for 1793–1805.
