§ To Robert Purviance. 24 November 1805, Washington. “I inclose a note on the office of D. & D. at Baltimore for 14747/100 dollrs. to replace the advances which you have been so obliging as to make for me on two late importations,1 one from Lisbon the other from Bourdeaux; to which I beg leave to add my thanks.”2
