§ From William Savage
15 September 1801, Kingston, Jamaica. Acknowledges receipt of JM’s letters of 25 June and 6 July.1 Has transmitted their enclosures to Lord Hugh Seymour, except those relating to Thomas Saunders, delivery of which was prevented by Seymour’s death. Further action awaits arrival of Seymour’s successor, Admiral Montagu, who is now at sea and not expected for several weeks. Hopes Montagu’s principles will be as benevolent as those of Seymour.
