Bill for the Relief of Lewis Garanger

Abstract. 2 January 1793. The bill authorizes the comptroller of the treasury, “in the adjustment of the claims of Lewis Garanger, to allow him the pay and subsistence of a Captain of Artillery” from 29 Sept. 1780 until 15 Nov. 1783.1

1On 29 Nov. 1792 the House passed a resolution for settlement of Garanger’s account and appointed JM chairman of a select committee to prepare a bill pursuant to the resolution. He reported the bill on 6 Dec., the House passed it on 2 Jan. 1793, but the Senate defeated it on 9 Feb.
