Hunt served on the Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, 1807–14, and he was active as a Federalist in 1827 (James Hardie, The Philadelphia Directory and Register [Philadelphia, 1794], 74; Desilver’s Philadelphia Directory and Stranger’s Guide, for 1835 & 36 [1835], 96; Philadelphia Porcupine’s Gazette, 9, 15 June 1797; Philadelphia Dunlap’s American Daily Advertiser, 15 June 1797; Philadelphia Poulson’s American Daily Advertiser, 1 Sept. 1807, 7 Nov. 1814, 27 Sept. 1827, 11 Nov. 1829; Richmond Enquirer, 30 Oct. 1835; William White Bronson, The Inscriptions in St. Peter’s Church Yard, Philadelphia, ed. Charles R. Hildeburn [1879], 424).
