Wilson Hunt (1780–1835), merchant, lived and traded in Philadelphia from at least 1794 until his death, with at least one period of insolvency beginning in 1826. A man with his name issued at least one challenge to a duel in 1797, but none took place. William Pile (ca. 1787–1828), accountant and merchant, worked in Philadelphia by 1808 and died there (James Robinson, The Philadelphia Directory, for 1808 [(Philadelphia, 1808)]; Robert Desilver, The Philadelphia Index, or Directory, for 1823 [(Philadelphia, 1823)]; Philadelphia Poulson’s American Daily Advertiser, 22 Jan. 1828).
