Daniel Brent to Thomas Jefferson, 7 November 1822
From Daniel Brent
Washington, 7th November 1822.
Dear Sir,
I have just received your favor of the 31st ult, enclosing a Letter for Mr Gallatin, which I will take great Pleasure in forwarding, with the first Despatches of the Department of State.
From an impression that you would be not a little interested and gratified by the reading of them, I had the satisfaction, some time ago, as soon as they came from the Press, to transmit to you, under a Blank Cover, a Collection of Papers in relation to the Fisheries and Mississippi.
Daniel Brent.
RC (DLC); endorsed by TJ as received 17 Nov. 1822 and so recorded in SJL. RC (DLC); address cover only; with Dft of TJ to William H. Crawford, 23 Aug. 1823, on verso; addressed: “Mr Jefferson, Monticello”; franked; postmarked Washington, 8 Nov.
The collection of papers was probably an additional copy of the enclosure to John Quincy Adams to TJ, 11 Oct. 1822.
