Account of monies received from the Treasury of the United States by Thomas Munroe in virtue of Warrants from the President of U.S. in part of the $130,000 appropriated last session of Congress for the public buildings in the City of Washington

Note.

The above balance of $2,613.87 has, within a few hundred dollars, been temporarily advanced for the work going on about the War Office, for the work done in the Senate Chamber preparatory to the Trial of Mr Chase, and in anticipation of the funds of the City—all of which will be repaid & properly adjusted in T. Munroes Accounts to be rendered to the Treasury at the end of the year.

Because of a miscalculation in tabulating the expenditures on roads, there was a two-cent underestimation of the balance.
