Paris, rue du Cherche midy, 12 June 1787. Though unacquainted with TJ, he asks him to forward two sets of the memoirs of the Royal Academy of Sciences at Turin (in 2 vols., quarto), one to Benjamin Franklin, and the other to the American Philosophical Society. “I am sure that Science now a days meets everywhere with friends and protectors, and that my request will not fail of success.”
