MS (Vi); partly in the hand of Marc, TJ’s servant, and partly in TJ’s hand (see note 1, below). The following certification is written at the foot of the text: “I do Certify that the above Acct. amots. to 25 livres 18 Sols. 9 dec: 89. J. Latil.” Endorsed by TJ: “Model 25₶–18.”
TJ made the following entry in his Account Book under 13 June 1786: “Paid do. [Marc] for state of Virginia duties and portage on the Model of the Capitol. 25f 18.”
