1. John Mitchell Mason became pastor of the Scotch Presbyterian Church on Cedar Street in New York City in 1793. It 1795 he became a trustee of Columbia College. In 1801 he went to Great Britain to collect books for a seminary which he later established in New York and which became the Union Theological Seminary.
