By the Presidents command T. Lear has the honor to transmit to the Secretary of the Treasury a letter from Messrs. Triol, Roux & Co. enclosing a copy of a memorial presented by them to the National Assembly of France.1
The President wishes when the Secretary may have leisure, that he would take the subject of said memorial into consideration & report thereon to the president.

1. This letter and petition concerned the redemption of loan office certificates acquired by Triol, Roux, and Company, Marseilles merchants, in return for a ship and supplies sold in the United States during the American Revolution. A translation of the letter, dated June 15, 1791, and a copy of the memorial to the French Assembly, dated June 1, 1791, may be found in RG 59, Miscellaneous Letters, 1790–1799, National Archives.
