Received from Alexander Hamilton Esquire Forty eight Dollars, being for three months subsistence to wit; from the 20th April 1791 to the 20th instant.

1. Parkinson, an English mechanic, came to America in 1790. With the support of Tench Coxe he drew up plans for a flax-spinning machine and secured a patent for it. In December, 1791, H appointed him a foreman for the Society for Establishing Useful Manufactures.
