Portsmouth, New Hampshire, April 4, 1791. Acknowledges receipt of Hamilton’s “letter of the 18 Decr.1 last together with Dycas’s & Colles’s Hydrometers.” States that Colles’s hydrometer may not be “truly graduated” and that there is a defect in the bulb of Dycas’s hydrometer. Requests a new bulb.
