New Windsor [New York] February 6, 1781. Thanks Jefferson for report of British incursions into Virginia. Hopes these events will not stop Virginia from helping to reinforce the southern army. States that Benedict Arnold’s actions were probably a diversion in Cornwallis’s favor. Reports damage by severe storm to English fleet off Rhode Island.
