George Washington to Jonathan Trumbull
[Bergen County, New Jersey] July 14, 1780. Is sending George Olney to New London to receive clothing, arms, and ammunition which is arriving with the French fleet. Requests that Trumbull use his authority to furnish wagons and teams to transport these goods. Hopes to begin “operations at a very early period.”
