Middlebrook [New Jersey] April 19, 1779. Is attempting to procure cannon but regrets that at this time none is available. Will send money when money arrives. Asks for a muster of the Massachusetts men under McDougall’s command. Instructs McDougall to have Brigadier General Enoch Poor’s brigade ready to march.
