In his Guardian Account for Martha Parke Custis in 1762 (see Appointment as Guardian, 21 Oct. 1761) GW lists the bank stock and bonds assigned to Martha Parke Custis, effective April 1761, in the settlement of the estate on 5 Nov. 1761: bank of England stock, £1,650 sterling; Bartholomew Dandridge’s bond for £600 sterling; and bonds in current money of John Mercer £1,100, Burwell Bassett £2,100, Bernard Moore £1,400, Thomas Moore £1,400, William Dandridge £440.9, Philip Claiborne £280, Joanna McKenzie £216, and Thomas Dansie £100. For these loans, see the general estate account 1759 (doc. III-B) and notes. The remainder of the bonds, or loans, were assigned to Martha Washington.
