To George Washington from Henry Knox, 16 March 1789

From Henry Knox

New York 16 March 1789

My dear Sir

The members of the government are the same as when I wrote you last,1 excepting Mr Maddison Mr Page and Mr B. Lee from Virginia2—But it is expected from information received, that a sufficient number of members will be assembled in the course of this week to form a quorum. I am my dear Sir Your respectfully affectionate humble Servant

H. Knox

ALS, DLC:GW.

2John Page and Richard Bland Lee were members of the House of Representatives from Virginia. For the failure of both houses to achieve a quorum, see Knox to GW, 5 Mar. 1789, n.1.
