I saw a man yesterday from Middletown point, who Says there were no vessels of any Consequence in the Bay, that there was no collection of boats at Princes Bay—I expect an officer in Soon from the Shrewsbury road, allso the great midleton there is one road to the Later place which passes near the post I now write from,2 I have the Honor to be Sir Your Most H: & Ob. St
Stephen Moylan

1. Longstreet’s Hill apparently was located near Colt’s Neck, N.J., about seven miles northeast of Monmouth Court House.
2. Among the several roads leading from Monmouth Court House were one going east to Shrewsbury, one going northeast to Middletown, one going north to Perth Amboy, one going west to Englishtown, and one going southwest to Allentown. Moylan’s cavalry roved north and east of Monmouth Court House, in the area between the roads to Middletown and Englishtown.
