To George Washington

Feb. 7. 93.

Th: Jefferson has the honor to return the Indian proceedings with the addition proposed, and to mention to the President that he did not send him in writing the proposition for enquiring into their boundaries, because having spoken to Genl. Knox on the subject it was found that their claims had been perfectly explained to Genl. Putnam.
