The Maryland house of delegates read the circulars from GW and the Committee at Headquarters on this date and referred them to a committee, which reported on 17 June that in their view “it is not within the ability or power of this state to comply with the requisition of the committee of co-operation” (Md. House Proc., June 1780, 196).
