Dear Sir,
If you are done with the Pamphlets & Papers which I put into your hands, be so good as to return them, as the Gentleman from whom they were taken, when sent to you, has had no opportunity yet of forming an opinion on them.1
Such observations as you have made I would thank you for.2 Yours &ca
G: Washington
ALS, PHi: Peters Manuscripts.
1. The requested agricultural pamphlets and papers originally had been loaned to James Madison (GW to Madison, 8 Feb., and notes 2 and 3).
2. For Peters’ delay in making any observations on the returned publications, see his letter to GW of 14 April.
