Five hundred men from the Pennsylvania line properly officered to march tomorrow morning to Sharon to escort the Convention troops to Hudson’s River.

On this date Maj. Caleb Gibbs paid tailor William Riley £6.12s.6d for clothing for GW and his servants, as follows: “Will—Two Coats Two wescoats And One pair of Breeches,” £3; “For Robert Preston One Coat one wescoat,” £1; “Francis Meriman one Coat one wescoat,” £1; “The Cost of Trimming for Wills Cloaths,” £1.2s.6d; and “For one wescoat for His Excellency,” 10s (Revolutionary War Accounts, Vouchers, and Receipted Accounts, 1776–1780, DLC:GW, ser. 5, vol. 29).
