I have only Time to forward the enclosed Resolves. The Cartridges are on the Way, and I hope will arrive in Season. The Congress will be attentive to all your Requests.1 With Sentiments of Esteem and every Wish in your Favour I have the Honour to be Sir your most obed. & very hble Servt

1. The enclosed copies of Congress’s resolutions of 14–16, 18, 21, and 23 Oct. concerning various military matters are in DLC:GW (see also , 6:873–74, 878–82, 888–91, 893–94, 897–98). One of the resolutions of 21 Oct. directs the Board of War to apply to the Pennsylvania council of safety “for the loan of as many Cartridges as they can possibly spare which are to be Sent with all possible Dispatch to Genl Washington” and “to take the most effectual Measures to have a sufficient Quantity of Cartridges made up in Philadelphia and forwarded to General Washington.”
