1. Ogden, a native of New Jersey and a veteran of the American Revolution, was a lawyer in Elizabeth, New Jersey. On January 8, 1799, Ogden was appointed lieutenant colonel of the Eleventh Regiment of Infantry ( , 299, 303). He was appointed deputy quartermaster general in Febuary, 1800 (H to James McHenry, February 20, 1800), and he was honorably discharged on June 14, 1800.
