George Washington to the Committee of Conference1

[Philadelphia] January 8, 1779. Proposes following points to be discussed with the committee: recruiting; a plan for the next campaign; prospects of further aid from Europe; clothing and supplies; changes in the ordnance, clothing, hospital, and engineering departments; establishment of an inspectorship; paper currency.
