1. Wind Southerly—heavy shower in the afternoon & much rain fell in the Night. Mer. 78. Mr. Bolling & Mr. L. Washington of King George came here.

Robert Bolling (born c.1759) of Centre Hill, Petersburg, was the son of Robert Bolling (1730–1775) and Mary Tabb Bolling of Bollingbrook. He married in 1796 his third wife, Sally Washington, daughter of Lawrence Washington of Chotank. Bolling had served in the Virginia militia during the Revolution (DAVIDSON description begins Nora F.
