Parole Kildair—C. Signs Lar. Man.

Ensign Henry Strupp of the German Regiment is appointed Adjutant to the same from the 1st day of October 1778.1

1Despite this order, it appears that Henry Stroop (Strupp, Strape; 1753–1843), a Pennsylvania carpenter, served as a lieutenant in Col. Benjamin Flower’s corps of artillery artificers from May 1778 to December 1780 (see Pa. Archives description begins Samuel Hazard et al., eds. Pennsylvania Archives. 9 ser., 138 vols. Philadelphia and Harrisburg, 1852–1949. description ends , 5th ser., 3:1107). The adjutant of the German Battalion from August 1776 to June 1779 was Louis de Linkensdorf, formerly a lieutenant in one of the king of Sardinia’s Swiss regiments (see Pa. Archives description begins Samuel Hazard et al., eds. Pennsylvania Archives. 9 ser., 138 vols. Philadelphia and Harrisburg, 1852–1949. description ends , 5th ser., 3:789).
