26. Dined at Mr. Ridouts and went to the Play after it.

John Ridout (1732–1797), another member of the council, lived on Duke of Gloucester Street. He was born in England and after studying for six years at Oxford came to Maryland in 1753 as a secretary to Gov. Horatio Sharpe (NORRIS [2] description begins Walter B. Norris.
