From Alexander Hamilton to John Daves, 1 October 1792

To John Daves

Treasury Department, October 1, 1792. “I enclose you a letter for Captn Cooke.1 … I have … concluded to alter the station of the Revenue Cutter from New Bern to Wilmington. The Collector of that port2 will of course have to perform the duties which were heretofore committed to you relative to the Said Cutter.”

1. William Cooke was commander of the Diligence, the revenue cutter for North Carolina.
