To Thomas Jefferson from William Call, 4 March 1781

From William Call

Prince George, 4 Mch. 1781. In spite of numerous applications for negroes to work at Hood’s, has secured the promise of only two; fears he cannot secure them unless he engages tradesmen and pays accordingly. “Those who do not spare their Labourers from principle will not for hire.”

RC (Vi); addressed and endorsed.

See TJ to Turner Southall and others, 15 Feb. 1781.
