From Christopher Richmond

Baltimore, July 26, 1794. “Enclosed are the Weekly returns … together with the Treasurer’s order on the Collector of this Port for Five Hundred Dollars payable to me, for the purpose of defraying the expence of Fortifying the Harbour of Baltimore—1 which sum I have paid over to Captain Samuel Dodge who has the superintendance of the Works.…”2
