TJ’s 14 June 1814 purchase from the firm of 1 barrel sfine (superfine) flour for $5.00 “⅌ negro Jesse” is also documented in a separate receipt for this transaction (MS in ViU: TJP-ER; written on a scrap in the hand of the same representative of William & Reuben Mitchell).
