Acknowledged receipt of Shipley’s letter of 23 May 1792, “together with the works of your late Right Reverend father, Lord Bishop of St Asaph,” for whose “character & sentiments . . . I entertained the most perfect esteem; and have a sincere respect for his memory, now he is no more.”
