The notice appearing in the General Advertiser and Political, Commercial and Literary Journal (Philadelphia), 29 July, stated that Thomas Lang’s “An Essay on Commerce and Luxury” was published on that day. The city directory gives the printer’s address as 21 Church Alley (Philadelphia Directory, description begins Clement Biddle. The Philadelphia Directory.
