For manœuvring Lieutenant Colonels Commandant Butler and Hubley; Majors Trescott and Parr; Two Adjutants from the Connecticut Division; Colours as before;2 Brigade Major from Clinton’s brigade3 to attend the Formation of the Manœuvring Battalions Tomorrow Morning Six o’Clock.4

GW’s expenses for this date included £1.2.6 “To cash pd Doctr Canfield [Campfield’s] servant [for] bringg asparagras a present” (Revolutionary War Journal of Household Expenses, 1776–1780, DLC:GW, ser. 5).
1. In place of the four previous words, another orderly book has “Brigade Major 2d Pensylvania Brigade” ( , 324).
3. Another orderly book gives an additional general order: “Clintons gives a Corpl and 6 for fatigue at pluckemin to be R[elieved] weekly” ( , 359).
4. Another orderly book includes an additional general order: “A Sub two Sergts and Twenty men for Fatigue they will be at the Half Moon Tavern to-Morrow morning at nine oClock.” They were to receive orders from a deputy quartermaster general ( , 324).
