On this date, GW wrote to John Dunlap, printer of the Pennsylvania Packet; and the General Advertiser (Philadelphia), from West Point, N.Y.: “One of the two Gazettes which you usually send to head Qrs for my use, be pleased to direct to ‘Mrs Washington—or to Mr Lund Washington at Mt Vernon near Alexandria in Virginia’” (ALS [retained copy], DLC:GW; Varick transcript, DLC:GW).
